His Contribution to Our Profession

Dr. Russell's influence on the AT profession today is largely in the area of performing arts medicine. One of his greatest joys is mentoring students and young professionals to positively impact the world around them and helping them get established in performing arts medicine and other fields they choose to enter. He created a performing arts medicine program at Ohio University that influences students and patients through clinical care, research, and education. Conducting, presenting, and publishing research his preferred way to give back to his field by expanding the knowledge of others, especially in the emerging area of performing arts medicine. He has been an Athletic Trainer for 33 years, and his ultimate goal remains, to use his credentials and experience to add value to those around him.
