Biography:
Renee Kleszczynski is a Senior Associate Athletic Trainer at Michigan State University and Chair of the Michigan Athletic Trainers’ Society CISM ATs Care Committee. With over 30 years of experience, she is a leader in athlete health, performance, and mental well-being.
Renee earned her Associate of Arts from Bethany Lutheran College (1992), a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Winona State University (1994), and a Master’s in Physical Education with a focus in Sports Medicine from Western Michigan University (1996).
Since joining MSU in 2016, Renee has overseen care for multiple Division I sports, currently leading athletic training services for women’s field hockey. She manages clinical technologies including Kitman, ARMS, and Teamworks, and collaborates with MSU’s performance and data science teams to optimize return-to-play protocols.
A certified crisis responder and QPR suicide prevention trainer, Renee also serves as a preceptor for MSU’s Athletic Training Program and chairs the REACH Consortium. She has co-authored research on athletic trainers’ roles in sexual violence prevention and is widely recognized for integrating physical and mental health support into athletic care.
