Honors & Awards Information

 

GLATA members in good standing may nominate a colleague for a GLATA or NATA award.

The District IV Secretary and District XI Secretary will co-chair the GLATA Honors and Awards Committee, which includes the State Representative of from each GLATA state or designee and the GLATA Secretary. Awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting each March with the exception of the Bobby Gunn Scholarship and the Continuing Education Grant.  

Award Timeline: Golden Pinnacle, Dedicated Service, Outstanding Educator Award, and Honorary Membership

  • Nominations:  Due no later than July 31st of the calendar year preceding the subsequent March Annual Meeting.    
  • Nominees will be notified by the Honors & Awards Committee and sent the application. Applications are due August 31.  Announcement of award selections will occur after the November GLATA Board Meeting.

  • CECAT Preceptor of the Year - Nominations by September 15th with applications due October 1st
  • Continuing Education Grant - applications due by December 31st 
  • Bobby Gunn Scholarship - applications due January 31st

GLATA Golden Pinnacle Award
Purpose: To recognize those members who have provided outstanding leadership to the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association. This is considered the highest honor for a GLATA member.
GLATA Dedicated Service Award
Purpose: To recognize those members who have demonstrated a superior level of excellence in managing and completing project(s) with the goal and outcome of creating a positive image of the GLATA and the athletic training profession.
GLATA Honorary Membership Award
Purpose: To recognize those individuals or corporations who have demonstrated significant contributions to athletic training which have resulted in a positive impact on GLATA.
GLATA Outstanding Educator Award
Purpose: To recognize those members who have significantly contributed to the education of GLATA members through athletic training education, mentorship, educational program development, or other educational activities.
GLATA CECAT Preceptor of the Year
Purpose: To recognize an outstanding preceptor within the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association for their hard work and influence on the students within the GLATA.
Bobby Gunn Student Leadership Award
Purpose: To recognize one of the true pioneers in athletic training; to give deserving students assistance in attending NATA’s Annual Meeting.
Continuing Education Assistance Grant
Purpose: To provide GLATA members with the opportunity for financial assistance to attend the GLATA Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposium.
