Biography:
Mike is currently the Associate Director for Strategic Planning Support, Training and Development at Ball State University. He is also pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Higher Education at Ball State. His research primarily focuses on the lived experiences of students in healthcare education programs utilizing a student validation and sense of belonging theoretical frameworks. With firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by marginalized students in higher education, Mike is a strong advocate for mentoring as a means to bridge the gap towards success for students.
Previously, Mike was the Head of Sports Medicine for the United States Beach Volleyball Men’s and Women’s National Teams and Mike and has over 20 years of experience in various settings of healthcare.
A native of California, Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology/athletic training and a master’s degree in exercise physiology from California State University, Fullerton. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities with his dog, Bella.
