Biography:

Holly Schmies is a professor in the School of Health Sciences and the Program Director for the Master of Science – Athletic Training Program at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.  She has worked in various roles during her tenure at UWSP including Associate Dean of the School of Physical Education and Athletic Training, Clinical Coordinator and Assistant Athletic Trainer.   

Holly's service started with the Wisconsin Athletic Trainers’ Association in various roles starting in 2004 through 2023.  She was most recently the District 11 Secretary and has enjoyed meeting more colleagues with district and national involvement.  She also serves as a site visitor for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education and on various committees at UWSP related to academic affairs and research.  

Holly’s professional interests include rehabilitation and performance, curriculum design, faculty development, and being an advocate for students and the athletic training profession.  In her free time, she loves to be outdoors, be active, cook, and spend time with her family and friends.
