Leah Willis, MS, LAT, ATC, HMS, NASM-CES is the current President of CECAT and serves as the Minnesota Early Career Representative. She works as an Outreach Athletic Trainer for Mayo Clinic Health Systems, providing care to student-athletes at St. Peter High School in St. Peter, Minnesota. Leah earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and her Master of Science in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Human Movement Sciences from Concordia University–Chicago. She is currently more than halfway through her Doctorate of Education in Health Sciences at A.T. Still University. One of Leah’s most meaningful moments in athletic training came when a senior basketball player, recovering from a broken ankle, returned to the court to fulfill his dream of playing one more minute. During his rehab, they shared a laugh over “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles),” and when the song unexpectedly played as he returned to the court, it became an emotional full-circle moment—captured on camera by his father and etched in Leah’s memory forever.
